This was a terrific and frightening story about a future world where teenagers are chosen to participate in a fight to the death competition called the Hunger Games. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I can't wait for the sequel to come out in September, 2009!
The Barcode Tatoo and The Barcode Rebellion
These are stories that tells us about the future. There are these tatoos that everyone has to get in order to have a decent job and whatnot. The barcode tatoo is the law! Anyone that doesn't have one is arrested. Kayla doesn't want a barcode because she believes that it is linked to her father's suicide. She joins a whole bunch of barcode resisters and they find out that they are telephatic. They are like literally physic. the story get weirder when she finds out that she is an sextupulet. This is the kind of story that has you on the edge of your seat.
DUNE
this is a good book. it tells you the story of a fifteen year old boy named Paul and his mother survive in the desert. It is one of the books that you wouldn't want to put down once you start reading it. Paul has many adventures that includes riding sand worms and stuff like that.
Uglies
Uglies is about a girl named Tally who is living ugly liker everyone else under 16. "Tally is about to turn 16, and she cant wait. Not for her license--for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your 16th birthday brings an operation that turns you from a replant ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there. But Tally's new friend, Shay, isn't so sure she wants to turn pretty. She'd rather risk her life on the outside. When Shay runs away Tally learns about the whole new side of pretty world-and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worse choice she can imagine: Find her fiend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever." Tally goes to the forest and finds her way on a 5 day travel to the Smoke. She uses that code that Shay gave her that only she can figure out. When she gets to the Smoke she thought it would be horrible, but it was fine. She meets a guy named David who was born in the Smoke, grew up in the Smoke, and still is. David is 21 with a really cool character/person and when Tally finds out about all these people, especially David it really hard to decide if she wants to rad them out or just stay in the Smoke. But she needs to keep her promise to Peris, her best friend who turned pretty a couple months before her. The promise she made was to become pretty and to go live with him in pretty-ville. You will especially love this book if you are a girl. I don't know why but u will be hooked!! This is a really good book and if you like this one then you will like the rest of them. There are four in all.
